Relieve Itchy, Dry Skin with These Simple Hydrating DIY Moisturizers

Dry skin can be terrible, especially in winter. Colder months can leave your skin dry, make you appear dull, and produce visible fine lines. On top of that, if your skin texture is already dry, itchiness, red blisters, cracked and flaky skin will be common that could elevate in colder months.

What Helps Dry Skin Naturally?

Treating dry skin can be annoying, and let’s not forget, expensive. Some dryness doesn’t leave you even after trying hundreds of store-bought beauty regimens. But what if we tell you that there are super cool and super affordable dry skin treatments that you can prepare at home in a jiffy?

Natural ingredients are the best way to treat skin conditions, and nothing can beat it. However, you cannot just go about mixing two to three ingredients to expect visible results. You have to keep an eye on the ingredients you use and their quantity to enjoy desired soft and supple skin.

Simple DIY Moisturizers

Here are four simple hydrating DIY moisturizers that you can prepare, store, and use every day.

Oats and Banana Mask

Treating dry skin the natural way is the best way, indeed.

Dry and flaky skin can make you look dull and older. The oats and banana-exfoliating mask gently scrub and removes the dry skin layer, leaving behind a glowing and soft skin.

Furthermore, exfoliating allows your skin to hold other moisturizers better, such as oils and lotions.

Oatmeal is useful for dry skin as it gently exfoliates our skin, producing a soothing effect. Banana is as an affordable and effervescent moisturizer and hydrator. This two-ingredient combination is a perfect natural remedy to treat dry skin.

Manuka Honey and Spirulina Hydration Treatment

The Manuka honey and spirulina mask is exceptionally nourishing and surprisingly simple to make.

Spirulina is rich in antioxidants. Antioxidants promote healthy skin cell growth, hinder aging, and treat wrinkles and fine lines.

Manuka honey is a product of honeybee pollination from New Zealand’s Manuka scrub plant. The scrub plant is rich in methylglyoxal (MGO), which makes the honey more potent than regular honey. Manuka honey can reduce skin inflammation and irritation, and since it’s a humectant, it can be an effective moisturizer too.

What You Need:

  • Manuka Honey: 2 tablespoon
  • Spirulina Powder: 1 tablespoon
  • Rosewater

How to make Honey and Spirulina DIY Moisturizer:

  • Combine all the ingredients and make a semi-thick paste out of it.
  • Apply the mask on your skin with fingers.
  • Leave for 30 minutes.
  • Rinse with room temperature water.
