4 Solutions for Keeping Things Clean and Safe at Work or Home

Keeping everything clean and sanitary while also trying to use natural products – and ones that are good for the skin – is not an easy combination. Some solutions are best to use at work where they must be more durable whereas others are better used at home.

Here are four effective solutions for keeping everything clean and safer for everybody.

1. Hand Sanitation Where You Need It

Businesses can use hand sanitation solutions to encourage or enforce handwashing for all visitors and employees.
A freestanding or fitted unit from a supplier like Satellite Industries can provide added visual encouragement to participate in keeping every pair of hands germ-free. Given how difficult recent months have been, it’s never a bad thing to avoid contact germ spreading.

2. Create Natural Washing Up Liquid

Liquid soap is relatively easy to create. It’s certainly a little easier than bars of soap. This is a task to do on a weekend when you have a bit of spare time.

Get some distilled water and pour it into a bowl. Then pour in some kosher salt granules. Wait for them to fully dissolve in the water. Then add lemon juice, vinegar, and baking soda – mix completely. Add the mixture to a squeezy washing-up bottle and use it as a natural washing-up liquid. It’s ideal as a backup in case essential supplies run low with panic buying at the store.

3. Use Eucalyptus Oil for Disinfecting Surfaces

Eucalyptus oil is an excellent natural solution for disinfecting surfaces. It can be used with a clean wipe to ensure touch surfaces don’t become a source of potential transmission of a virus. It also prevents any unwanted cleaning solution smells too.

Strangely enough, it can be used on metal in places that are beginning to show the first signs of rust. Using the oil for this purpose avoids rust worsening quickly and significantly causing damage and extra expense.

4. Create a Citrus Vinegar Cleaner for the Floors

Instead of using a store-bought pungent cleaning solution to add to the water for mopping the floor, consider creating a zingy citrus vinegar one instead. It’s easy to make too.

Just fill approximately a glass up to 30 percent with vinegar. That’s your base. Now add some peels from some fruits that you’ve recently consumed – leaving nothing to waste – like oranges, lemon, or grapefruit. Add a lid and let that mixture sit for at least a couple of weeks.

Once the wait time is over, strain out the solution and dilute it ready to use in a spray bottle. It must be diluted sufficiently to prevent it from clogging up the spray nozzle (this may require a bit of trial and error on your part). While it’s perhaps best used on flooring, it’s also handy on kitchen surfaces and glassware too.

While it’s tempting to reach for store-bought cleaning products that aren’t made from natural ingredients, that’s not always needed. It’s also beneficial to know how to produce home cleaners for times when the stores have been cleaned out by panic buyers.
