Lotion bars are great for your skin.  Additionally, they are easy to store. You can even carry them with you in your purse to use on the go. The solid bars are nice since you don’t have to worry about a liquid lotion leaking out of a bottle that you’re carrying.

Lotion bars make great gifts for your family and friends for any special occasion. You can use a different mold for different holidays. You can also include flower petals in your lotion molds to give your bars a special look.

How to Make Lotion Bars

Lotion bars are easy to make and they don’t use a ton of ingredients.

They are simply made by heating up their ingredients, then pouring the contents into a mold. Once the mold has hardened, you just pop the lotion bars out and they’re good to go.

How Long Do Homemade Lotion Bars Last?

Depending on the ingredients you use, homemade lotion bars can last for many months to even a year. They need to be kept in a cool, dry place. They can easily be stored in a tin or container.

How to Use Lotion Bars

You can use lotion bars as either a solid bar that you rub on your skin or you can use it as a bath melt. If you want to use the bar on your dry skin, simply rub it on your skin. The lotion bar will melt as it comes in contact with your skin. Be sure to let the bar fully melt and absorb into your skin before putting on your clothes.

Can You Use Lotion Bars in the Shower?

Lotion bars can be used in the tub or shower. Place them in a hot bathtub to slowly melt. If you have flower petals in your bars, they make for a pretty bath.

If you use a lotion bar in the shower, apply it after you wash off your soap or shower gel. Massage the bar over your skin, then rinse. The bars will leave your skin nice and soft.

If you use a lotion bar/bath melt in the tub, just place it in the hot water and let it melt. As you’re relaxing in the tub, the bath melts will nourish your skin.
