3 Natural Ways to Protect Your Employees from Pathogen Infections

The world has been turned upside down by the recent pandemic. However, while it has significantly changed the way we live, it has also raised awareness on prevention, which can be viewed as a good thing.

More people now understand the true importance of proper hygiene and are taking the steps necessary to protect themselves. Workers who are at the forefront also have to protect themselves, but employers have to take responsibility to make sure that the risks are at a minimum. That doesn’t mean, however, that you need to rely on heavy and potentially harmful chemicals to reduce risks. Here are a few natural ways to protect your employees from pathogen infections.

Invest in Face Shields

There is an increasing amount of research that shows that face shields might be not only just as efficient as face masks for preventing airborne infections but could actually be better in some cases.

For one, they protect the entire face from airborne aerosols, which are said to be the easiest way for viruses to spread. Not only that, but they are reusable, which means less waste.

They’re also less intrusive for people, and allow them to function normally without the excessive heat face masks can produce.

Limit Contact Between Employees and Clients

You also have to limit the number of interactions between employees and clients. Businesses with wait rooms should consider switching to appointments. Also, encourage clients to contact you by phone instead of coming in person.

Another thing you’ll have to do is to install physical barriers between them and your employees. Sneeze guards are a great way to protect your employees, and they’re an easy solution to implement as well. They’re also much more affordable than many might imagine. They can be custom made based on your specifications, and can even be installed on your own.

Encourage Healthy Behavior

We now know how much of a role having a strong immune system plays in the spread of pandemics. This is why you should consider instituting a wellness program within your organization if you don’t only want to reduce the chances of catching a virus and getting complications, but have a healthier workforce in general.

You can also change some policies in your business to encourage good health. You can give your employees longer lunch breaks and encourage them to take a walk outside.

Another thing you could do is add a gym area. This alone could encourage employees who would’ve otherwise never gone to the gym to give it a try. Not only will they be healthier, but they’ll also have a boost in morale, which will eventually reflect in their work.

These are all-natural ways that you can keep the chance of transmission to a minimum and keep your employees safe. Make sure that you consider all of these options if you truly care about their health and wellbeing.
