As someone who has dealt with Multiple Chemical Sensitivities and has to live a non-toxic lifestyle, I’m always in search of products that don’t negatively impact my health. In today’s world, that’s not always easy to come by.
Recently, I was shopping for a non-toxic air mattress to use when I go camping or have company over. Most air mattresses are highly toxic. I know how they have made me feel in the past and I’ve read stories from people who have been negatively impacted by them. Most air mattresses are constructed of PVC material which is toxic and odorous.
We typically spend 7-10 hours each day on a mattress, so sleeping on a smelly, toxic air mattress can be nauseating.
Finally! A Non-Toxic Air Mattress with Height
For years, I have searched for a non toxic air mattress that was more than the size of an air bed. You can imagine my delight when I finally found an air mattress that was queen size, traditional mattress height, and could even inflate by plugging it into an outlet!
BeyondHome offers an air mattress that is PVC-free. Their mattress is made with a fabric blend of TPU and polyester. Typically, I have to air out any product that I buy. It might off-gas for a while. The air mattress is comfortable and durable. On occasion, I have used it for multiple nights. It stayed solid and didn’t lose air, or start deflating.
The bottom of the air mattress is anti-slip. It also has a puncture-proof core layer.
