Real Food Bloggers – Unprocessed and Unmodified
Few can argue that the food we eat today is considerably different than what was consumed by our parents and grandparents a generation or two prior. Dubbed the generation of convenience, our food is all too often processed with genetically engineered ingredients, preservatives, pesticides and chemicals. Tune in on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 4:00 PM (ET) to VoiceAmerica’s Living Natural Today: Out with Toxins, In with Your Health, as Teresa interviews real food bloggers, Kristine Cocchiarella and Julie Hornbecker, to hear their stories that led them to changing the way they cook for their families, and, ultimately, to real food blogging. They will also share recipes that utilize unprocessed and unmodified ingredients – and provide strategies for incorporating these recipes into one’s daily life.
Featured Guests to Discuss Real, Whole Foods
Julie Hornbecker with Whole Food. Real Food. Good Food.
Julie Hornbecker is from the blog Whole Food. Real Food. Good Food. Julie is a mom and wife, with a passion for healthy food and cooking. She is not a doctor, dietician or nutritionist. She is simply a mom who started to pay attention to what she was feeding her family. She has an undergraduate degree in Psychology and my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and firmly believes much of our emotional well-being is a direct reflection of what we put into our bodies. Pre-packaged processed foods are convenient, but cooking from scratch using fresh, unprocessed ingredients is an absolute must to maintain health. There is a lot of trickery going on in the food industry which makes it very difficult to make healthy choices. She started her blog because she felt a moral obligation to share this information with as many people as possible. She likes to use minimal, basic ingredients and she shares recipes and strategies for incorporating these recipes into daily life. Her goal is to inspire a love and appreciation of real food!

In researching, she discovered that food was the problem and the answer so she began cooking with foods that weren’t modified genetically; in other words, “unmodified” food. Kristine shares heartwarming, honest, and witty stories with recipes featuring tasty, down-home meals that focus on using “unmodified” foods and ingredients.
