Plastics – they’re everywhere. We use them to store kitchen items, personal care items, and more. Plastics can contain literally thousands of possible additives/chemicals that affect the hardness, softness and texture of products.
A major toxin of concern in many plastics is Bisphenol A (BPA). However, it is important to note that even BPA’s replacements, Bisphenol S (BPS) and Bisphenol F (BPF), are also questionable. Studies have examined the “hormonal activities of BPS and BPF. They found their potency to be in the same order of magnitude and of similar action as BPA… Based on the current literature, BPS and BPF are as hormonally active as BPA, and they have endocrine-disrupting effects.” It is best to avoid products with BPA, BPS or BPF.

Ultraviolet Glass Jars: A Better Alternative
Glass is a much better alternative to plastic when it comes to storing items. I recently received glass bottles from Infinity Jars. Infinity Jars has ultraviolet glass jars in many different shapes and sizes to meet your needs whether it comes to storing items in the kitchen, or storing personal care products. They offer over 70 styles of airtight, ultraviolet glass containers.
Infinity Jars aren’t just your typical glass jars. Their jars “can actually slow down the decaying process of organic matter while maintaining the freshness of whatever you put inside.” They use a special pigmented glass that blocks out harmful light rays while selectively allowing infrared and UV-A rays. They are laboratory proven to preserve and extend the shelf life of goods. Their glass is thicker and more durable than standard glass. It is also smell-proof and is visually discreet. In addition, their jar lid systems, the screwtop, and glass-on-glass lid are completely airtight to protect and preserve your products. All of these qualities set Infinity Jars apart from other jars.
Glass Cosmetic Bottles for the Do-It-Yourselfer
Because of Infinity Jars’ high quality, these bottles are great for a host of different items. I like their glass cosmetic bottles for storing DIY lotions, topical ointment oils, DIY perfumes made with essential oils, and DIY cosmetics. Their pocket size glass jars are perfect for cosmetics and fit nicely inside a purse. You can also create your own essential oil blends. Their essential oil bottles come with dropper caps so you can measure precise drops.
Glass Oil Bottles for the Kitchen
I also like Infinity Jars’ glass oil bottles. Their oil bottles come with both a screw top lid and a slow pour spout. Because of their ultraviolet filtering, you don’t have to worry about the oils quickly degrading. The bottles were designed to keep oil fresh and easy to dispense.
In order to minimize toxins, I recommend ditching plastic containers and using glass jars that don’t leach harmful chemicals instead!
