Product Review: Using an e-cloth Mop to Clean Floors Without Chemicals

I was recently selected to do a product review for an e-cloth mop. e-cloth’s tagline is “perfect cleaning with just water.” I’m all about reducing the use of chemicals, so I was excited to do the review. I also like to support those companies who help us minimize toxins. This was the first time I had heard of e-cloth; however, they have been selling products in the United States since 2008.

e-cloth offers multiple products. Their products range from items used for body care, baby care and pet care, to cleaning the rooms in your home and even your automobile.

e-cloth is Not Just Another Microfiber Cloth

So what makes e-cloth different from your traditional cleaning cloth? An e-cloth is free of two things: cleaning chemicals and bacteria. I don’t know about you, but those are two things I want to keep away from my home!

e-cloths have 3.1 Million fibers per inch. Their “cloths are made of polyester and nylon, so they don’t “absorb” anything. Water, dirt, oil, grease, grime and even bacteria are trapped within the fibers.”

Their cloth is proven to collect and remove 99% of bacteria from hard surfaces. When you rinse the cloth under hot water, that bacteria is released from the cloth and washed down the drain.

We know that many chemicals which are used on a regular basis are untested and potentially harmful. As someone who has had my health damaged because of toxins, I know this to be true. e-cloth sites a 15-year study by the Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons which links cancer to toxic household chemicals in the home. It states:

Women who work at home have a 54% higher death rate from cancer than women working away from the home.”

In addition to the health benefits, e-cloth is also better for the environment because you can just rewash the cloth instead of using multiple paper products and plastic spray bottles of chemicals.

Using e-cloth’s Deep Clean Mop

So you might be wondering – how did my experiment go with e-cloth? I tested their Deep Clean Mop on our floors. I have to say, cleaning the floors has never been easier! Initially, I was only going to test one floor, but it was so easy that I decided to clean all of our floors at that time.

I felt like Ray on the show Everybody Loves Raymond when he bought the vacuum and enjoyed using it so much that he was cleaning everything! Mopping the floors is typically a chore that takes me two days to do, but I was glad to be able to clean all of the floors easily with this mop. Maybe I’ll actually mop my floors more often in the future!

The mop was easy to assemble and offered the flexibility of adjusting its handle to whatever height you prefer. It was also lightweight and thin, so it easily moved under appliances and other items to reach areas which I had neglected in the past due to the size of my other mop.

I loved the fact that it saved me time. As I previously mentioned, I was able to mop all of our floors pretty quickly. One of the reasons was that the mop was lightweight. The other reason was the fact that I didn’t have to constantly take time to stop and rinse out the mop. When I did rinse the mop, it was as easy as peeling the cloth off of the mop head, rinsing it out in the sink and re-velcroing it back onto the mop head.

When I was finished mopping, all I had to do was throw the microfiber cloth into the washing machine to clean it. e-cloth claims that their mop cloth is good for 300 washes.

I was amazed at how clean my floors looked by just using water and the cloth. At first, I was a little skeptical that the mop was getting the floor totally cleaned, but after I saw how dirty the cloth was and how clean the floors looked, I realized it worked!

ecloth reviews

For the most part, I really liked the e-cloth mop. However, since the mop is so lightweight, I had some difficulty at times keeping the mop head hard on the floor when I was trying to clean a particular spot. When that happened, I just stepped on the mop as I moved it around to make it clean deeper.

Do I Recommend the e-cloth Mop? Yes!

I would highly recommend using the e-cloth Deep Clean Mop not only for its cleaning results but also for the fact that it helps you to minimize toxins in your home. I am looking forward to using my mop for some time to come! You can find the e-cloth mop here, or at a store near you by searching for local retailers on their website.

Happy toxic-free cleaning!
